The United Church Women met at the United Church of Crawfordville at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at 2 p.m., with nine members present.

In the absence of President Lowe, Clarissa Malmberg called the meeting to order. Secretary Protem Cathy Williams read the minutes of the May 10, 2016 meeting, and they were approved as read.
Treasurer Pat Miller gave the treasurer's report. The expenses regarding the 2016 Crawfordsville Alumni Banquet have not been completely finalized yet. The report will be filed for audit.
The regular offering was taken.
Correspondence
Thank you notes were read from various organizations and individuals.
It was mentioned that Bidwell Riverside Center will no longer be accepting Campbell Soup Labels as the program was discontinued.
Local activities
A lunch was served following a funeral on June 28.
Roughly 800 chocolate chip cookies were baked for the upcoming RAGBRAI event in Washington. The cookies will be made into ice cream sandwiches.
A verbal thank you was given for those assuming responsibility of and serving at the Alumni Banquet.
Wilma McAllister reported work has started on the construction of school book bags. Lists are available for the needed supplies for the bags and other items to be taken to the Bishop's Ingathering. Three quilts were also tied at the meeting on July 11.
Fall Rummage Sale plans were reviewed by Joyce Huff. Dates for the sale are Sept. 1, 2 and 3. Set-up will be held on Aug. 30, and the sale will be open Thursday morning and end Saturday at noon. Hours extended related to Old Threshers shoppers. Sign-up sheets for workers will be out.
Helen Lease announced boxes with lids will be needed.
Old business
The aprons to be worn during church dinners, kitchen events, etc., have arrived and are being kept in the kitchen. It was suggested taking some of them to wear at the RAGBRAI dessert booth.
New business
The nomination committee will be meeting to present a slate of persons for September's election of officers.
Women will be meeting again July 15, 2016, to finish baking cookies for the RAGBRAI event.
The WACO teachers will be meeting at the United Church of Crawfordsville on Aug. 10, 2016.
The next regular meeting will be held on Sept. 13, 2016. A motion was made to adjourn.
For those furnishing pies for RAGBRAI, they need to be at the Fellowship Hall by 5 p.m., on Thursday, July 28, and set up will be at 6 p.m., in Washington.
Vacation Bible School at the United Church of Crawfordsville will be held Monday, Aug 1, through Friday, Aug. 5, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Ages three years through fifth grade are welcome. The theme this year is ?Fun Run?.
