The Crawfordsville Wednesday Study Club met the afternoon of Oct. 19, 2016, and "Followed the Signs" to Hal Colliver's display of old-time gas pumps and advertising near West Chester.
Eleven members enjoyed viewing the collection of vintage gas pumps and signs on the outside and inside of his farm buildings. Colliver was there to greet the club and answer any questions they had about his collection.

The Crawfordsville Wednesday Study Club met the afternoon of Oct. 19, 2016, and "Followed the Signs" to Hal Colliver's display of old-time gas pumps and advertising near West Chester.
Eleven members enjoyed viewing the collection of vintage gas pumps and signs on the outside and inside of his farm buildings. Colliver was there to greet the club and answer any questions they had about his collection.
The group then drove to Washington to enjoy treats and beverages provided by the hostesses, Cathy Williams and Maxine Martin, at the Dodici-Cafe.
A brief business meeting was conducted by President Pauline Richardson. The minutes of the last meeting and treasurer's report was given by Debbie Lowe. A book brief was given and members were encouraged to keep reading.
A time of visiting concluded the meeting.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at 7 p.m., at the Crawfordsville Community Room. Twelve members were present.
As the club was hosting the Zone Five Meeting, the following guests were introduced: District Governor Paul Hain, First Vice District Governor, Nancy Slack; Maryann Pattyson, Alert Chairperson; Brian Pattyson, Global Membership Coordinator; Past District Governor, Don Foor; Global Leadership Coordinator, Roger Smith; President of Columbus Junction Lions Club, Lamoyne Buser; and Carol Martins, Secretary of the Wayland Lions Club.
President Billie Jo Rose opened the meeting and led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Nancy Love gave the invocation.
The minutes of the Oct. 10 meeting were approved with the addition of the information that Lion Arvid Anderson and wife, Joan, and Lion Billie Jo Rose had attended the visit of International Lion President Bob Corlew at the Chadwick Library on the Iowa Wesleyan University Campus on Sept. 18.
There was no treasurer's report.
The secretary read a thank you from the Iowa Wesleyan Campus Club for the contribution made toward paying dues for the first year of the chartered club. A letter was also read form the Ft. Dodge Correctional Facility thanking the club for the interest in sponsoring a leader dog puppy.
It was moved, seconded and approved to offer a $500 scholarship to a graduating WACO senior. Lion Luetta Greene will be in charge of defining the criteria for the award, and present it to the club at the next meeting.
District Governor Hain presented the Warren Coleman Award for Excellence in Lionism to Lion Steve Williams.
The business meeting was followed by a program given by two research scientists at the Iowa Lions Eye Bank, Ben Aldrich and Jessica Skieies, on cornea transplants.
