The White Cloud Club met Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Sassy's Cafe, in Wayland, where nine members and one guest enjoyed lunch.
Jolene had made each member a May basket filled with goodies. President Jolene Colthurst opened the meeting by reading "May Time" from Ideals magazine.
Those attending were Carrie Coble, Jolene Colthurst, Frieda Finke, Joyce Huff, Betty Lintz, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson, Wanda Schultz, and guest, Fran Lowe.
A plant exchange was held.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 7, at Sassy's Cafe, for an 8:30 a.m. breakfast.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met on Monday, May 9, 2016, for their dinner meeting at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 15 members present.
Lion President Loree Stogdill opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Gene Miller gave the invocation.
Following the meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.
A thank you note was read from those receiving funds from the Alzheimer fundraiser.
In unfinished business, the club agreed to provide lunch at the ball field on July 2, for the Crawfordsville Town Celebration from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. They will be serving hot dogs, porkburgers, drinks, etc.
It was announced there would be a Zone Meeting at the Columbus Jct. Senior Center on May 16, at 6 p.m. Reservations need to be made by May 11. Also, the Crawfordsville Lions will be having a blood drive, at the United Church of Crawfordsville, on June 6, from 2:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
In other news, Memorial Day services will be held at the Crawfordsville Cemetery on Monday, May 30, at 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be Colonel Kenneth E. Madden, USAR.
Some chairs are available or participants may bring their own lawn chair. Coffee and donuts will be served at the American Legion Hall following the service. In case of rain, the service will be held at the Legion Hall.
