FT. MADISON ? The 12th-ranked New London volleyball team just couldn?t quite get over the hump against No. 6 Holy Trinity on Thursday night.
The Tigers played the Crusaders tough in the first game, falling 25-22, but HTC used momentum from the first game to top New London, 25-14 in game two, and 25-15 in game three, for a 3-0 sweep.

FT. MADISON ? The 12th-ranked New London volleyball team just couldn?t quite get over the hump against No. 6 Holy Trinity on Thursday night.
The Tigers played the Crusaders tough in the first game, falling 25-22, but HTC used momentum from the first game to top New London, 25-14 in game two, and 25-15 in game three, for a 3-0 sweep.
Breanna Mettler was the lone Tiger with double-digit kills in the loss. She had 13 kills in 33 attack attempts.
Ashley Birdsell was second on the team, with six kills. Kaylor Schulte had four kills. Savannah Sutherland had two, and Sophie Lounsbury finished with one. Sutherland led the team in assists, with 23.
Carson McSorely had a big day defensively, with 23 digs. Camryn Blint had 16 digs. Kirsten Rohdy and Sutherland had seven digs apiece, and Mettler and Madysen Wahls finished with six each.
The Tigers went 46-50 serving in the loss, with seven aces. Rohdy went 7-7 with three aces. Mettler was 8-10 with two aces. Sutherland was 10-10 with an ace, and Birdsell was 9-9 with an ace of her own.
The Tigers fell to 23-8 with the loss. They?ll be at the Mt. Pleasant tournament on Saturday, Oct. 8, before hosting Notre Dame in the regional first round on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
