Noah?s Ark?s Caring Community Spay Neuter Assistance Program and area veterinary clinics are sponsoring the 13th annual promotion of February as national spay neuter month by offering surgery discounts during the month.
Participating clinics include the Veterinary Clinic, Fairfield Animal Hospital, Keokuk County Richland and Sigourney Veterinary Clinics and the Village Vet in Birmingham.
Call the clinics directly to make an appointment. Anyone needing additional financial assistance may call CCSNAP at 469-2015.
Annually 150-200 dogs and cats are altered locally during February. This not only provides health benefits for the pets, but reduces the number of ?accidental? litters and homeless dogs and cats.
Community members can support the event by letting folks know about it and by sending donations to CCSNAP at Noah?s Ark, PO Box 748, Fairfield 52556. All of the funds received will be used to help families requiring more financial assistance to alter their pets.
In 2012, CCSNAP assisted 780 dog and cat surgeries, preventing countless litters and improving the lives of many.
