Noah?s Ark has received a $2,500 grant from the Miccio Foundation of Iowa City.
The funds will be allocated to CCSNAP, the organization?s spay neuter assistance program, to help launch the first annual Fairfield Fall Fix for Cats.
During September, pet owners needing assistance to alter their cats can receive discounted surgeries of $20 for a female cat spay and $10 for a male cat neuter. FVRCP vaccinations also will be given at no additional cost. To take advantage of the offer, call the Fairfield Animal Hospital at 472-6983. Appointments are limited.
?Spaying and neutering your pets is one of the best things you can do for them,? said Dawn Safrit, executive director of Noah?s Ark. ?They will be healthier, with fewer behavioral issues, and you will be making a significant impact on reducing the number of accidental litters.?
Noah?s Ark assists approximately 400 to 500 surgeries of dogs and cats annually. Donations to continue and expand this work are welcome and can be mailed to: Noah?s Ark/CCSNAP, P.O. Box 748, Fairfield.
For information on spaying and neutering, call CCSNAP at 469-2015.
