Washington County 4-H?ers earned awards for their entries judged in the 4-H Exhibits Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
This year Washington County 4-H was allotted to send 49 non-livestock projects to the Iowa State Fair. These were selected by judges at the county fair in July. Four-H?ers receive ribbon awards based on how they meet their goals and on the evaluation standards established for each particular project area.
?I know the 4-H?ers learn a lot from the State Fair experience. The competition is high and the variety of projects is amazing,? said Amy Green, Washington County 4-H and Youth Coordinator. ?They get valuable feedback from the state fair judges and see how other 4-H?ers presented their ideas and projects as well.?
