A new restaurant renovation project at 111 N. Court St. uncovered an old facade sign for Sterling Market Thursday. The former long-time location of Off Broadway Grill is planned to re-open as a three-level restaurant in February by owner Frances Donald. Sterling Grocery is listed in 1950s Fairfield telephone books at a 52 W. Burlington Ave. location with O.B. Govig as owner. When the business was at the North Court Street address is uncertain. Donald said newspapers from the 1890s were found stuffed in the walls during the construction project.
