One month of isolation makes me reflect

I am on day 32 of protective isolation. I am thankful for the beautiful sunshine streaming into my window as I write this article. I have found during this time I am so much more grateful for the small things in life like, a walk on a beautiful day, quality time with my husband and son, fresh air, the safety of my home, food in my pantry, technology to connect with my family, and so much more. When this is all over I hope I never take for granted being able to go to the store, go to work and interact with patrons, get my nails done, and see my loved ones whenever I want, and buy toilet paper and lysol.
It has warmed my heart to see how our town has rallied around each other during this difficult time to support each other. We will be stronger together when this is all behind us.
I have loved seeing the way authors, publishers, educational resources, celebrities, museums, schools/teachers, zoo's and libraries have tried to bridge the gap and offer awesome free resources to help keep kids learning and making memories.
Here are some ideas and resources to help you pass the time:
' Explore the library's digital resources.
' Download Libby and enjoy free audiobooks and e-readers from the comfort of your own home.
' Learn a new language with our online resource Byki Transparent Language
' Go on a walk and journal/draw things you see
' Make an indoor and outdoor obstacle course
' Take silly pictures of each other
' Cook or bake a new recipe
' Visit the library's Facebook page and enjoy the free resources and challenges
' Facetime friends and family near and far
' Read a book you've always wanted to read
I will end with this 'you're not stuck at home you're safe at home. One word can change your attitude. ' -unknown.
