Open class exhibits needed for county fair
Entries are wanted for the Open Class Division of the Washington County Fair. There are numerous classes of hobbies ? art and photography, all crafts, all types of needlework and quilts, woodworking, culinary, flowers, vegetables, and plants as well as dried arrangements. Entries are wanted for the Open Class Division of the Washington County Fair. There are numerous classes of hobbies ? art and photography, all crafts, all types of needlework and quilts, woodworking, culinary, flowers, vegetables, and plants as well as dried arrangements. The largest vegetable contest will be held again this year. These entries can be brought to the old schoolhouse building on the fairgrounds on Monday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to noon. There is an entry fee per article. Judging by Shannon Greiner and Sue McClellen for photography will begin at 1 p.m. with premiums for first and second place, and rosette ribbons will be awarded.
Exhibits can be picked up on Thursday, July 23, at 8 p.m. For further information, a complete listing of classes can be found in the fair book available on the Washington County Extension website http://www.extension.iastate.edu/Washington/ or by calling Donna Palmer at 319-636-2340 or Shirley Bohr at 319-646-6512. Special displays by a person or group are also welcome.
