Open Class exhibits needed for fair

Entries are wanted for the Open Class Division of the Washington County Fair including numerous classes of hobbies ? art and photography, all crafts, all types of needlework and quilts, woodworking, culinary, flowers and plants as well as dried arrangements. The largest-vegetable contest will be held again this year. These entries can be brought to the old schoolhouse building on the fairgrounds on Monday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and there is an entry fee per article. Judging by Bonnie Knutson of Kalona will begin at 1 p.m. with premiums for first and second place and rosette ribbons will be awarded.
