Several openings remain for a Babysitting Basics Training Course to help youth learn how to be responsible babysitters. Topics to be covered include employer expectations, caring for infants and young children, age appropriate toys and activities, safety, emergency, and first aid procedures.
The program is for any youth (boys and girls) who have completed fifth grade and above. The five day course will be held July 31 ? Aug. 4, from 9:30 ? 11:30 a.m. There is a cost to take the course. Interested youth are encouraged to register early, as each class is limited to 25 students.
Registration forms are available at the Washington County Extension Office or online at http://www.extension.iastate.edu/washington/. Registrations are due by July 26 or when class is full. For more information, contact the Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
