Optimae’s Fowler earns social worker designation
Nov. 10, 2021 1:51 pm
Susan Fowler, a therapist at Optimae Behavioral Health Services with an office in Fairfield, has earned her licensed independent social worker (LISW) designation.
In completing her LISW requirements, Fowler participated in 4,000 hours of supervised practice, with an additional 100 hours of direct supervision. She completed her requirements in just two years (the state of Iowa allows up to six years for program completion).
“I received weekly and monthly supervision with two extremely qualified individuals who were paramount in my growth as a social worker and therapist,” Fowler said. “Through this process of my clinical decisions and thoughts being consistently validated or shaped through professional discussion, my confidence as a provider began to reach new heights. I am so grateful for Optimae and the opportunities they have given me as a professional and I look forward to the years to come.”
Fowler earned her master’s in social work from the University of Southern California. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, with particular interest in childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, complex trauma and support for military families.
Persons wishing to schedule an appointment with Fowler may call 319-385-8051.
