Optimist Club of Washington announces scholarship selections

The Optimist Club of Washington has announced two 2020 Washington High School Seniors who will receive a $500 scholarship toward their college experience. The two young men, Jadon Crawford and Caleb Tanner, were selected for their optimistic attitude, and personalities during the school year. High School teachers were involved in the selection process.

Jadon Crawford is the son of Lisa and Roger Crawford and is attending Kirkwood Community College with a major selection of Film and Cinematics.

Caleb Tanner is the son of Susan and Mike Van Osdol and is attending the University of Iowa majoring in the College of Business and Finance.

The Optimist Club of Washington has the motto of 'Friend of youth” and completes youth and community serving projects throughout the year. It meets weekly on Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. at the Washington YMCA. Donald Pfeiffer is the president of this 35-member service club.
