Orchestra to perform

The Southeast Iowa Symphony Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Robert McConnell, will perform a concert at 2 p.m. at the Ss. Peter and Paul Historical Catholic Church in rural Harper on Sunday, Dec. 6.

This is the third year it has been offered and the participation is growing every year as word spreads. The church itself is 117 years old and is on the national register of historical places. It was rescued from impending demolition by the Ss. Peter and Paul Historical Association and massive amounts of labor and love have been put forth with loving hearts to restore and preserve it for generations to come. Just to see the beautiful architecture and artistic work in the altars and windows is worth the trip. The acoustics are magical, the aesthetics beautiful, and the experience surreal. Come and join us and bring a friend. A reception will be held in the church basement afterward. No cover charge but a free will offering is appreciated to ensure continued events.
