OTTUMWA ? The Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra will present ?A Family Concert? at 7:30 p.m. March 1 in St. John Auditorium on the Ottumwa campus of Indian Hills Community College.
Under the direction of music director and conductor Carey H. Bostian II, the concert will feature several family-friendly arrangements to include ?Sonata Representativa? by Heinrich Biber, which will be narrated by Miriam Kenning, with illustrations by local Ottumwa students; ?The Perfect Pig? by Philip Wharton ? a lesson on being yourself featuring soloist Jonathan Struve, instructor of voice at Luther College; and ?Czardas? by Monti, featuring Young Artist winner Ellen Willhoit of Ottumwa. Willhoit is a talented violinist who handles the tempo and style changes in this work with great confidence.
Sponsors for the concert include South Ottumwa Savings Bank, the John Deere Foundation and the Rotary Club of Ottumwa. Admission is by season ticket or a $14 adult ticket at the door. Students, including IHCC students, will be admitted free.
