Ornamental, turfgrass applicators course planned
The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pest Management and the Environment program will present the Ornamental and Turfgrass Applicators Continuing Instructional Course for commercial pesticide applicators March 5 at locations across Iowa.
Locally, the program can be seen at the Jefferson County ISU Extension Office.

The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pest Management and the Environment program will present the Ornamental and Turfgrass Applicators Continuing Instructional Course for commercial pesticide applicators March 5 at locations across Iowa.
Locally, the program can be seen at the Jefferson County ISU Extension Office.
Registration begins at 1 p.m., and the course runs from 1:30-4 p.m.
The course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 3O, 3T, 3OT and 10.
Topics to be covered include effects of pesticides on groundwater and other nontarget sites and pesticide persistence; phytotoxicity; invasive turfgrass species; cultural turfgrass management for sports fields; emerald ash borer update; benefits of trees; pesticides, pest management, and pesticide stewardship.

The registration fee is $35 on or before Feb. 26 and $45 after Feb. 26.
