Owl Prowl at Chinkapin Bluffs

Listen to owls while hiking along the scenic wooded bluffs at Chinkapin Bluffs Recreation Area in Louisa County on Thursday, Nov. 4 from 5:30-7 p.m. Learn about owls commonly found in Louisa County including their incredible adaptations for being active at night.

Owls also have some unique vocalizations. Did you know you can tell what kind of owl is calling just by its call? The program includes a hands-on presentation plus a short hike.

“Join us to discover the incredible world of owls!” said the Louisa County Conservation Office.

This program is free, open to the public and appropriate for all ages. Children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is not required. Chinkapin Bluffs Recreation Area is located southeast of Columbus Junction at 14198 R Avenue, Columbus Junction, IA 52738.
