P.E.O. Sisterhood meets in Mt. Pleasant

Chapter NZ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Mount Pleasant met for their Christmas party on Dec. 12, 2019 at the Mt. Pleasant Golf & Country Club. Celebrating were 46 members and guests. Committee members for the event were Christine Broeg, Lea McCormick, Lynn Graf, Laura Bjork, Stephanie Gardner and Chris Prellwitz.

Chapter NZ met for their regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 26, 2020 at the Ashford Park Clubhouse with Jan Lange, Kelley Tansey, Carolyn Reid, Jean Thomson, and Carole Lauger serving as co-hostesses. President, Jean Thomson presided at the 1:00 p.m. business meeting with 28 members present. Reports were given by officers. The treasurer announced that dues are now payable. The president appointed a nominating committee of Jan Lange, Lea McCormick and Jean Thomson.

Vice President, Jan Lange announced that the next meeting would be a social gathering, traveling on Tuesday, February 11 to Tiffin for brunch then to Coral Ridge Cinema for a matinee. Members wishing to go should contact Betty Lowe, leaving a message on her phone by February 7. The next regular meeting will be Monday, February 24, 2020 in the home of Deb Savage with Kathie McWhirter, Melissa Peitz, Jan Rankin, Joy Conwell and Judy Miller serving as co-hostesses. The program will be the reading of the president's letter, and election of officers, delegate and alternate delegate to Iowa State Chapter Convention.

At the close of the business meeting, Kelley Tansey gave the program, 'Sharing My Irish Roots” telling a heartwarming story about searching and finding her family ancestors. At the conclusion of the program, co-hostesses served refreshments.
