Panther boys win in Eddyville

EDDYVILLE ? It was another dominant night for the Mt. Pleasant boys' track and field team on Thursday. The Panthers scored 151 points to top the field at the Eddyville-Blakesburg relays, topping second-place Pekin by 56 points.

EDDYVILLE ? It was another dominant night for the Mt. Pleasant boys? track and field team on Thursday. The Panthers scored 151 points to top the field at the Eddyville-Blakesburg relays, topping second-place Pekin by 56 points.
The Panthers won seven events on the day. Chase Lamm won two of those, taking the 400-meter hurdles in 58.43 seconds and winning the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.36 seconds. Jake Lowe finished second in the 110-meter high hurdles, crossing the tape in 16.31 seconds.
Keegan Rich won the long jump with a leap of 20-2.50. Rylan Seberg was third in that event, jumping a 19-08.50. Seberg picked up a win in the 400-meter dash, crossing the tape in 53.41 seconds.
Cody Mertens won the 1600-meter run, finishing in 4:47.54. The 4X800 team of Jacob Stukerjurgen, Jonathan Ita, Mertens and Kyle Vanderham won in 8:23.69, and the shuttle hurdle relay team of Rich, Konnor Peterson, Hoang Mai and Lowe won in 1:01.52.
Dalton Moyle was second in the 3200-meter run, crossing in 10:36.10. Zach Beason was second in the discus with a throw of 150-03. Sam Beatty finished second in the high jump with a leap of 6-00, and the sprint medley team of Lamm, Tate Shull, Cole Burns and William Copeland picked up a silver in 1:39.88.
Stukerjurgen was third in the 800-meter dash, crossing in 2:03.29. The 4X100 team of Rich, Seberg, Khang Truong and Copeland was third in 44.94 seconds. The 4X400 team of Ita, Bender, Shull and Mai took third in 3:46.62, and the distance medley team of Truong, Copeland, Shull and Bender took third in 3:51.03.
The MP boys will have no more meets before the Drake Relays start on Thursday, April 26. Qualifiers from all four Henry County schools will be released next week.
