Mt. Pleasant added an insurance run in the sixth, and it proved important as the Arrows scored one in the seventh before Mt. Pleasant was able to get the final out.
Bailey Johnson picked up the win in the circle, throwing seven innings and giving up two earned runs on five hits and no walks, while striking out six.
Johnson also went 1-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the team offensively. Trinity Krabill and Dani Broeker each went 1-3 with a run scored. Chi Glaha was 1-3 and Anni Liechty went 0-3 with one run scored.
The Panthers (16-4 overall, 6-2 in SEC) can now turn their attention towards a big conference doubleheader tonight (Thursday) against No. 15 Keokuk. The Panthers and Chiefs will kickoff their doubleheader at 5:30 p.m.
