Panthers win Denny White Relays

The sun was out and the weather was perfect for the Denny White Relays on Thursday night at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mt. Pleasant.
Mt. Pleasant won nine events on the night to win Class A with 210 points.
WACO won three events and scored 80 points on the day. New London had 44 points and Winfield-Mt. Union scored 23 points.

The sun was out and the weather was perfect for the Denny White Relays on Thursday night at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mt. Pleasant.
Mt. Pleasant won nine events on the night to win Class A with 210 points.
WACO won three events and scored 80 points on the day. New London had 44 points and Winfield-Mt. Union scored 23 points.
Logan Murray was a double winner in the relays, taking the 3200-meter run and the 800-meter run in Class A.
In the 3200-meter run, Murray took the top spot in 9:54.01. Teammate Cody Mertens was right behind him, finishing in 9:57.17.
Murray won the Class A 800-meter run in 2:04.56. Kyle Vanderham crossed the finish line right next to Murray, at 2:04.62.
Mertens picked up a victory of his own in the 1600. He crossed the line in 4:48.88.
Jake Lowe was a double-winner as well for the Panthers. He won the 110-meter high hurdles in 15 seconds flat, and the 400-meter hurdles in 54.93 seconds.
The shuttle hurdle team of Keegan Rich, Chase Lamm, Cole Burns and Lowe also picked up a win, making it a Panther sweep in hurdle events. They picked up the win in 58.13 seconds.
Rich also won the long jump. He took the top spot with a 20-09. Brody McGhghy, who was competing for Mt. Pleasant junior varsity, had the second best jump of anyone, with a 20-01.
The 4X800 team of Adam Bodenham, Brody Bender, Reece McNamee and Vanderham won, in 8:33.10. The distance medley team of McGhghy, Jordan Magnani, Nolan Quade and Jacob Stukerjurgen finished first, in 3:49.02.
WACO?s three wins all included Cornell Hulme, who won the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash in Class B.
Hulme finished the 100-meter dash in 11.41 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 23.45 seconds to take the top spot in both.
The Warrior shuttle hurdle team also placed first. The squad of Beau Beckler, Jackson Roth, Colton Horak and Hulme finished the race in 1:01.58.
