Parent Academy program at Mid-Prairie Nov. 5

The Mid-Prairie Community School District will be hosting their Parent Academy: Raising Kids in an Ever-Changing World on Monday, Nov. 5, at Mid-Prairie High School. A complimentary meal will be served for everyone attending, beginning at 5:45 p.m., with the keynote event, a screening of the 45-minute film, Angst, starting at 6:10 p.m. Following the film, attendees can select up to two breakout sessions to join.
Breakout session topics include:
' Vaping, e-cigarettes and marijuana, with the opportunity to tour a 'mock bedroom” where paraphernalia are ‘hidden in plain sight'.
' Developing positive social skills to prevent and deal with bullying.
' angst: a follow-up Q and A about the film.
' Reading and the impact of screen time on young brains.
The Parent Academy welcomes ALL parents/grandparents/guardians in the Mid-Prairie community, including those who home school or attend private schools in the area. Free child care will be provided by the Mid-Prairie High School FCCLA chapter.
