Park and rec, Extension service offer day camps in Fairfield, Packwood

Fairfield Park and Recreation Department and Jefferson County ISU Extension are planning summer day camps for youth in Fairfield and Packwood.
Each camp is $5. The age group is based on the school grade completed this spring. Each session runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is limited to 25 youth. To register, use the link http://bit.ly/jefferson12948.
' Fun With Bots. Kindergartners through third-graders will be introduced to basic coding concepts through games, robots and block-based coding programs. June 4 at Packwood Community Center and June 6 at Cambridge SportsPlex at Roosevelt Community Recreation Center.
' Seeds, Sun & Soil. Fourth- through eighth-graders will learn how plants grow through experiments and play in the dirt to learn about the importance of soil in growing healthy crops. June 11 at Packwood Community Center and June 13 at Cambridge SportsPlex.
' Camera Corps. Fifth- through 12th-graders will improve photography skills and techniques and learn camera basics. July 9 at Packwood Community Center and July 11 at Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
' Express Yourself! Kindergartners through third-graders will practice storytelling, explore music and perform a skit. July 30 at Packwood Community Center and Aug. 1 at Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
' STEM Lite to Go. Kindergartners through third-graders will participate in activities based on Dr Seuss books. They will make play dough for a gingerbread house, stamps and more. They will be able to make their own snow and learn about blizzards. Aug. 8 at the Packwood Community Center, and Aug. 9 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
