When you read in your Bible that the Lord will provide for your needs; how capable are you to depend on that truth?
Recently, I read an interesting passage regarding the Levite Priests and their inheritance.
"The Levite Priests indeed, the whole tribe of Levi are to have no allotment or inheritance with Israel. They shall live on the food offerings presented to the Lord, for that is their inheritance, as He promised them. (Deuteronomy 18:1-2)"
Do we truly believe that God can take care of our needs or do we doubt Him. Maybe I need to help myself as the old saying goes: God helps those who help themselves? Do we go to the casino or buy lottery tickets to supplement what I don't have?
The truth of the matter is those who are following the Lord can trust Him to provide for all their needs.
Here is the faith builder, to totally live 100 percent on the Lord?s provision. We live on the promises of God.
In the past, I have known those who have lived on faith-based ministries, however, recently I have received a personal knowledge as our eldest son is working for Youth For Christ. It is amazing to watch his faith grow as he and his wife live daily trusting the Lord to provide.
When he first joined Youth For Christ, his income was the second income, however, shortly after Christmas, his wife lost her job and now they are totally dependent on God to supply their needs.
There are many things we worry about, we forget that our Heavenly Father will not let the righteous fall.
In the Philippines, there is a lovely flower, the hibiscus, whose blossoms range from white, yellow, orange to deep red. They seem to grow everywhere, throughout the days of the year. They color the countryside with great splashes of color and beauty. The blossoms have many shapes and textures.
One of the unique aspects of this flower is that it blooms every morning. However, the bloom lasts only one day. That means a bouquet only lasts one day.
Just as He provided for manna each morning for the children of Israel in their wilderness journey, so He provides for us, each day, renewed mercies and faithfulness. But, we must gather fresh manna each day.
The Lord provided for the needs of the Priests, all the Israelites and for us as well. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
Remember, the Lord is your inheritance.
