Why is Ron Paul the only choice for president?
To understand one has to step back and look at his candidacy from an historical perspective. The American Revolution was perhaps the most enlightened moment in the evolution of political governance. Our country was blessed with an opportunity to throw off the yokes of tyrannical government, and start from scratch.
The principles the founders spoke of served as the bedrock of the Constitution. Never had the concept of Liberty, personal freedom and inalienable rights received the protections of Law to such a degree.
The issues we face today are hardly different than they were then. The founders were aware that the greatest danger to any nation is the condition of war. The Constitution was clear: the Nation could not be thrust into war by a ruler?s decision: only our elected members of Congress could declare war. They were also very clear that war (or the constant threat of war) would result in the loss of personal liberties.
The founders warned us of the danger of ?entangling alliances,? and urged us to take a more enlightened approach: Refuse to become involved in the internal affairs of others or to seek out enemies, instead engage in peaceful commerce, good will and cultural exchange.
The founders were also aware of the natural abuse of power. They specifically limited power going to where it was most condensed and dangerous, the Federal Government. They did not believe in a one size fits all society dominated by an elite, privileged few.
Paul is the only candidate that fully understands and embraces the original Vision of America. He has forcefully spoken out against the manner of going to war and the dangers of empire building. He advocates a return to the founders? vision of a more ?Christ-like? foreign policy: ?Do unto others as you have other others do unto you.?
History now clearly shows he was (almost solely) right with his opposition to the Iraq war. He would bring the National Guard and our troops home, strengthening our defense and service to this country. The dramatic savings from such a move would allow the elderly and others who have become dependent on the government to actually receive their payments.
Paul speaks about restoring our rights to medical freedom, educational freedom and freedom to choose the life we individually desire. He would audit the Federal Reserve, stop their abuses, and restore sound money.
He would forcefully act to disallow abuse of power by not only banks but any entity that seeks special treatment.
Paul understands the cause of inflation, how the monetary system works, and knows how to restore fiscal sanity.
