Derek Morales, who tacked on Pekin?s fourth hit, took the loss from the mound. The senior Panther pitched all six innings and allowed seven hits and issued four free passes. Three of the six runs were unearned.
Although Pekin head coach Jeff Eeling always wants to see his Panthers add another win to their season total, he didn?t expect to lose much sleep over Wednesday?s defeat.
?It was a glorified practice, but it did provide us with some good experience,? said Eeling. ?The non-conference games don?t mean a whole lot.?
The Panthers (8-9, 6-3 SEISC north) head to Winfield-Mount Union on Friday.
