Pekin High School Speech Team wraps individual season
PACKWOOD ? Out of Pekin High School Speech Team?s 44 members, 10 received at least Division I ratings at the district level in individual speech this year; five earned Division I ratings at the state level and one student was selected for All-State.

PACKWOOD ? Out of Pekin High School Speech Team?s 44 members, 10 received at least Division I ratings at the district level in individual speech this year; five earned Division I ratings at the state level and one student was selected for All-State.
Torie Hollingsworth was the All-State performer selected. She performed at the festival Monday in the storytelling category.
Students receiving Division I ratings at state were: Krystal Sullivan, interpretive reading-poetry; Rachel Shaw, interpretive reading-prose; Nicci Giberson, solo musical theater; Ryan Heckart, solo musical theater; and Hollingsworth, solo musical theater.
Varsity members who received Division I ratings in district competition were: Breana Campbell, after-dinner speaking and interpretive reading-prose; William Newman, spontaneous speaking; Tucker Flinn, acting; Talya Miller, interpretive reading-poetry; and Sullivan, storytelling.
Hannah Robinson received a Division I rating for storytelling in the junior varsity division.
In large group speech, Pekin?s three performances received Division I ratings at both the district and state levels. The musical theater group was selected as an All-State non-performer.
The improv group included Jamison Messerschmitt, Ashlyn Allsup, Newman and Heckart.
The musical theater group ?Godspell? featured Brandy Millikin, Ally Machala, Giberson, Hollingsworth and Heckart.
The reader?s theater of ?Snow Sort of White? included Kelsey Molkenthin, Stratton Bond, Jake Frank, Jenna Strom, Jon Martin, Tater Clubb, Graham Wittrock, Rachel Wonderlich, Seth Jensen, Jacob Gentry, Logan Scholtus, Tyson Lamb, Shaw, Millikin and Newman.
