Pekin seventh graders win state cross-country meet

The Pekin seventh and eighth grade cross-country teams competed at the State Junior High Cross-Country Championships Saturday at Saydel High School in Des Moines. The seventh grade girls, consisting of Zoey Wright, Kelly Myers, Hunter Lock, Ayren Essary, Holly Loper and Kameron Fears, finished in first place. The seventh grade boys, consisting of Tony Deutschle, Jacob Weber, Blaze Muntz and Tyler Reynolds, also finished first.
