Pence recognizes Trojan Superstars for April

Pence Elementary School principal Angela Jones has announced the Trojan Superstars for April.
'Our April Trojan Superstars are those who exemplify Trojan Traits - Respectful, Responsible & Safe - in and out of the classroom,” said Jones. 'We are honored to recognize these leaders within each class.”
2T - Nora McReynolds 'is a kind friend and works hard. She is a great role model and tries her best throughout the school day. She has really improved in all areas this year and I am so proud of her! In the hallway, she is responsible and walks down the hallway with respect for herself and others around her. She is a role model out at recess! At recess, she is safe and kind and always includes others in whatever she is doing. I can count on Nora to work hard even when I am not looking and she does the right thing. I appreciate her in our class as she is a kind friend to everyone.”
2H - Taryn Roemen 'is a student who always goes above and beyond. She works extremely hard at everything she does. She is an all around GREAT example of all of our Trojan Traits. She is unbelievably kind to everyone she meets and treats others the way she would want to be treated. She is quick to include others if she sees that they need a friend and is someone that I can always count on to be a helper.”
2B -LilyAna Meyers-Haydt is 'kind and caring to all students and adults. LilyAna has shown independence by always doing her very best. She shows respect by following directions and being a good listener. LilyAna demonstrates responsibility by asking for help when needed, and participating in classroom discussions. She is very determined and accepts challenges in a positive manner. LilyAna shows what it means to be safe at school by following the school rules in class, the hallways, and while playing at recess.”
2J - Grace Maynard 'is a kind and caring friend to all of her classmates. She is a role model of how to treat people with respect. Grace greets classmates and teachers with a smile of her face each day. She is uses her Trojan traits in the classroom and also at recess. She is always safe and respectful to others as she plays. Grace comes class to work hard and can be counted on to do her best. She never gives up even if the task is a challenge.”
2M - Max Lovelady 'joined our class in the middle of the year. Without knowing it, Max walked into our classroom on his first day already being a Trojan Superstar! He has fit in so well with our class and has made great friends. Max is a very polite and respectful young man. Every interaction he has with students, teachers, and staff is filled with respect. Max caught on quickly to how our classroom runs and has been responsible for his work and materials. He is a great role model for his manners, class participation, being a friend, and helping others.”
3H - Gabby Titus 'comes in the room with a smile every day and shares that warmth with her classmates. She is kind and courteous with her actions and her words. Gabby can be counted on to help out where needed. She is responsible about giving her best effort, returning homework, and having her student planner signed. Gabby models safety in the classroom, hallways, and recess. She is a good friend to her classmates and always respectful of adults.”
3S - Cameo Felles 'has made such a growth this year, both socially and academically, and we are all so very proud of her. Her kindness shows through no matter the situation and I can always count on Cameo to come with a smile on her face and a passion for learning. Cameo goes out of her way to help each and every person in my room, from picking up the room to passing out papers to working in groups with them on projects. Cameo never gives up on anything. Even if it is a challenge, Cameo can always be counted on to give her very best! Cameo is showing she is responsible by asserting her independence, both inside and outside the classroom and always doing the right thing.”
3F - Mia Salinas-Ybarra 'has taken on a great responsibility by helping our new student feel welcome and comfortable in a new school. Not only has she been a great role model to our new student, she has set a great example to her class, and her school. She is respectful in the classroom, and outside the room. She follows her Trojan Traits at recess, at specials, at lunch, and on the bus. She comes in every morning ready to learn, and leaves each day with a smile on her face!”
3L - Vanessa Kessel is 'always happy and shares her joy and kindness with others. She is a good role model of what to do in the classroom during instruction, work, and group times. She can always be seen on task and being responsible and respectful. Vanessa continues to shine with her Trojan Traits at recess and all other areas of the school. She takes on any challenge with a smile and a will to complete it successfully.”
3R - Esther Anderson 'is such an amazing leader in and out of our classroom. She continuously models by example, encourages others, and helps monitor respect, responsibility, and safety. Esther is not afraid to help others. Her generous nature has been an incredible gift to our classroom this year! She is a fearless caretaker for our pet bearded dragon. Esther is never afraid to ask questions and is always willing to try new things. She even recently helped pioneer a new group at Pence, called ‘Trash Troopers,' that works towards making Pence a better place by picking up litter during recess.”
4D - Carson Lovelady 'joined our school and our class this March. He fit right into our school family from the very first day! He has been a great role model, engaged and active student, and a compassionate friend! He exhibits our Trojan Traits daily by completing his work both on time and of great quality! Carson is respectful towards adults and peers by giving them his full attention and responding politely. He goes above and beyond expectations both academically and socially. Carson sees the big picture, makes great connections, and creates a deeper understanding for both himself and his classmates. After he completes his work he jumps right in with helping peers complete their work and demonstrates other strategies to help them reach the answer without even being asked. Carson cares deeply about others and it shows through the empathy he exhibits every day.”
4N - Ethan Bisgard 'always goes above and beyond in the classroom. He turns in quality work on time. As soon as an assignment is given he gets right to work and sticks to the task at hand. He is a friend to all and jumps right in to help them too. Ethan is respectful to his peers. He is a great representative of our school. Ethan's actions are of a leader both in the classroom and on field trips. I appreciate that Ethan is always happy to help when I ask for volunteers to help around the classroom. I appreciate Ethan's participation in classroom discussions and ability to work independently and collaboration work. Thank you Ethan for being a LEADER!”
4F - Kenneth Lu 'is witty and likes to have fun, but he works hard too. He is also kind, caring, honest, and helpful. Kenneth is a student that his classmates and I can count on to help others. When he works with partners, Kenneth is awesome at showing them how he thinks or works through problems. He doesn't just give or copy answers, but Kenneth is patient in helping someone work through a problem he may already know the answer to. I know that Kenneth is someone I can depend on to be honest. When class reminders are made about following our Trojan Traits, Kenneth is quick to follow the rules. He shows his kindness through including others in recess games, welcoming classmates to sit by him at lunch, and being careful with hurtful words.”
4R - Chau Khong 'is always showing others how to use their traits. She is a great role model. She has done an excellent job at working well with everyone in class. When assignments are given she is quick to follow directions and ask for clarification when she needs it. Chau shows great respect and responsibility when she is in the building and when she is representing our school on field trips. She is working hard and continuing to grow.”
4T - Alejandra Carminhato 'is always going above and beyond to help out in the classroom, no matter what the task is at hand! She shows her Trojan Traits both in and out of the classroom by being respectful, responsible, and safe. Alejandra is a perfect role model for her peers and younger students in the building. She is always working hard to get her work done!”
