Photographer shows work at State Fair
Local teacher, artist and photographer Erin Almelien was accepted into the Photograph Salon at the 2014 State Fair. Almelien lives in Washington.
She teaches art at Pekin Community School and teaches aqua zumba for the YMCA indoors and outdoors. She also works at the front desk of the Washington Y.

Local teacher, artist and photographer Erin Almelien was accepted into the Photograph Salon at the 2014 State Fair. Almelien lives in Washington.
She teaches art at Pekin Community School and teaches aqua zumba for the YMCA indoors and outdoors. She also works at the front desk of the Washington Y.
The Photography Committee announced that out of 9,000 photos entered this year, only 500 artists were in the state exhibit .
The photo shows her with her contact print of the Grand Canyon, on the top shelf of the exhibit space. Her photo was the only photo accepted in the exhibit from Washington County.
Almelien will share her photography with all who attend in the SouthEast Iowa Artists' Studio Tour, Oct. 18-19.
