Scotch Grove, IA
Phyllis Ilene Parker, 72, of Scotch Grove formerly of Hillsboro and Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Phyllis was born on October 11, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of William and Ida Newman Plummer. Phyllis was united in marriage to Larry Lemont Parker on October 17, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2014. She worked as a Home Health Aid in Mt. Pleasant and she was a CNA at Park Place and Mapleleaf Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. She was involved in the CB Club. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family along the river for fish fry's and BBQ's. She loved to camp and loved her kids and grandchildren. She loved to collect bears of any kind, enjoyed making tie blankets for her grandchildren and done some crocheting. Phyllis was a great wife, a friend and a wonderful Mother and Grandmother.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Richard L. Parker of Scotch Grove, Lorrie (Kent) Lee and Cyndee Parker both of Mt. Pleasant, Sharon (Scott) Trimpe of North English and 12 grandchildren and 16 great great-grandchildren, two brothers, Halver (Diane) Plummer of Burlington, Marvin (Barb) Plummer of Kentucky, two sisters, Bertha Schadt of Mt. Pleasant, and Charlotte (Dick) Allen of Marion, a brother-in-law, Terry Parker of Oregon and two sisters-in-laws, Delores Plummer of Burlington, Elaine Roach of Mt. Pleasant, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grand-daughter Marsha, four brothers, Leo, Charlie, Bill and one in infancy, one sister in infancy, three sisters-in-laws, Phyllis, Pat and Ruth along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Following the visitation cremation will be accorded and private family burial will be at a later date at the White Oak Cemetery rural Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in her memory.
