Pioneer Cemetery Day Saturday in Mt. Pleasant

The sixth annual Pioneer Cemetery Day will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Woodlawn/Irishtown Pioneer Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Pioneer Cemetery Day, honoring early settlers and veterans buried in pioneer cemeteries, is hosted by the Henry County Pioneer Cemetery Commission.

Woodlawn/Irishtown Pioneer Cemetery is at 600 W. Irish Ridge Road, Mt. Pleasant, southwest of Mt. Pleasant's Central Park, but due to road construction, there is a detour. From Mt. Pleasant Central Park, drive .6 miles south on Main Street to South Street. Turn right/west onto South Street and proceed to Jefferson Street. Turn left/south to Irish Ridge Road. Proceed .2 miles on Irish Ridge Road and follow signs to the cemetery. Parking is available on-site.

In the event of rain, the program will be at the Henry County Museum in Mt. Pleasant.

Those attending should bring lawn chairs.
