Place S.H.A.R.E. orders before April 11

Orders are due before April 11 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages available this month.

Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org.

The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. April 26 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.

Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.

The $25 ?best-value? package includes: two 8-ounce Cook?s ham steaks; 15.8 ounces of fully cooked Angus chopped beef steak; 12 ounces of fully cooked breaded, all-natural chicken strips; 12 ounces of fully cooked meatballs; a 22-ounce pumpkin roll; and an assortment of seasonal produce.

The $13.50 grocery package includes: a 22-ounce pumpkin roll; and an assortment of seasonal produce.

The $13.50 meat-only package includes: two 8-ounce Cook?s ham steaks; 15.8 ounces of fully cooked Angus chopped beef steak; 12 ounces of fully cooked breaded, all-natural chicken strips; and 12 ounces of fully cooked meatballs.

The $19 charbroiled beef burgers package includes 18 5-ounce fully cooked grill marked hamburgers.

The $19.50 pasta box includes 18 ounces of stuffed shells, 18 ounces of stuffed manicotti, 13 ounces of ravioli, 16 ounces of tricolor totellini, 12 ounces of sun-dried tomato stuffed ziti, 12 ounces of spinach and cheese stuffed ziti and 13 ounces of potato and cheddar pierogies.

The $27 grab-bag special includes 10 assorted grocery items and frozen meats.

The $19.50 flatbread pizza package includes 24 4-ounce flatbread pepperoni pizzas.

Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order ?choice? items.

The choice items for April are:

? An $18.50 package of sausages wrapped in pancakes with blueberry-flavored bits in four 2-pound bags;

? An $11 package of 2 pounds of Ken Davis fully cooked pork loin back ribs in barbecue sauce;

? An $18 sandwich variety pack with six 13.5-ounce sausage and cheese breakfast sandwiches, six 15-ounce egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches, six 15-ounce chicken melts and six 14-ounce Angus cheeseburgers; and

? A $5.50 10-inch, 48-ounce ready-to-bake, double-crust apple pie. Food packages are subject to changes.

The nonprofit food-buying organization offers food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
