The annual perennial plant exchange will be Saturday at the Fairfield Farmers? Market in Howard Park.
Sign-up starts at 9:15 a.m., and the exchange begins at 10 a.m.
Participants need to bring at least one perennial and sign up in order to participate. A perennial plant is a plant that lives for more than two years, such as ferns, dahlias, orchids, roses, daisies, coneflowers, and more. The term is often used to differentiate a plant from shorter-lived annuals and biennials.
One person at a time, in order of the sign-up sheet, chooses one perennial. Then it is the next person?s turn and so on. When the end of the list is reached, organizers start with the first signed-up person again and go through the list one person at a time again. The pattern is repeated until each person has had as many turns as the number of perennials he or she brought.
