Washington County Master Gardeners will hold a plant sale on Saturday, May 13, at the Washington County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. until items are sold out. The plant sale will be held at the historic Palmer Polygonal Barn.
?We usually have a great number of perennials and a few annuals,? said Don Pfeiffer, Master Gardener president. ?This is a great opportunity to get some perennials that are being grown by Master Gardeners,? he added. There may also be herbs, houseplants, garden art pieces, and some slightly used tools for sale. Prices for the plants and garden art vary.
The plants are donated by the Washington County Master Gardeners. Most plants come from their gardens and are potted in early spring. Several members dig bulbs and plants in the fall and winter them over for the sale.
Master Gardeners will be available to answer gardening questions.
For more information about the plant sale or the Master Gardener program contact Sheila Gerot at 319-648-2646 or Nancy Adrian at the Washington County Extension office at 319-653-4811.
