Players Workshop holding open auditions for young actors’ play

Players Workshop of Burlington is holding open auditions for the Young Actors' Production of the Eric Allan Smith play, Girls Only. Parts are available for up to 12 girls and three boys, ages 10-18, and no experience or special preparation is necessary to audition.

Set in a 'girls only” clubhouse, Girls Only is a coming-of-age story about four childhood friends: Kim, who idolizes her Marine Corps father; rich girl Ali, who has the clubhouse; Jen, whose timidity is only made worse by her dysfunctional parents, and 'tough” girl Raven, the play's narrator. The drama traces their lives in third grade, eighth grade, and 12th grade, ending on their high school graduation day.

The remaining character is the neighborhood boy, Ian, who brings conflict to the girls at various points in their lives.

Auditions will be held at the Players Workshop, 1431 Grove. St., on Sun., May 5, and Mon., May 6, from 6 -8 p.m. The play is slated to run June 21- 23, 2019, at the Workshop.
