Fairfield Police Department arrested Dawn Denise Dunn, 36, of 207 Maple St., at 11:27 a.m. Monday for driving while barred.
The following information is Fairfield Police Department?s initial contacts summary received by dispatch for Friday and part of Saturday provided at the Jefferson County Law Enforcement Center.
Friday
1:34 a.m. Caller asked for police to check building; caller was checking building doors. Police found all OK.
2 a.m. business contact ? alarm. Paper delivery woman said she hit door with newspaper and alarm started. Store security called also reporting the glass-break alarm was going off and he would send a keyholder to business and officers also would check the business.
8:16 a.m. Citizen call about red pickup truck driving too fast, running stop signs and doing cookies. Officer gave a verbal warning to driver.
8:37 a.m. Caller reported her husband hit a sign while driving, not sure where or what type of sign. Police unable to locate any signs; possibly covered with snow.
9:08 a.m. Funeral escort from Word of Life Lutheran Church to Evergreen Cemetery.
9:52 a.m. Funeral escort from Raymond Funeral Home to Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
10:53 a.m. Citizen contact, someone vandalized caller?s mailbox; will come in amd file a report.
11:04 a.m. Citizen contact, neighbor?s German Shepherd is bothering caller?s dog, wants it removed. Officer checked area, nothing located matching dog?s description.
11:15 a.m. Citizen contact, said someone reported to job supervisor the caller has hepatitis; caller wanted police to talk with person who reported this to job supervisor. Police advised caller to contact an attorney.
11:27 a.m. Citizen contact from Anderson Tooling, Inc. needs assistance to get an oversized truck down Grimes Avenue to gas station for fuel and back. Officer assisted.
12:24 p.m. Motorist assist, subject ran out of gas. Assisted motorist in putting in gas.
12:37 p.m. Citizen contact, three juveniles were throwing snowballs at vehicles, hit a vehicle owner, started screaming at kids. Police checked the area.
2:38 p.m. Officer checking for an individual, unable to locate.
2:47 p.m. Traffic violation, verbal warning for not having proper plates on vehicle and no insurance card in vehicle.
2:56 p.m. Officer checking for an individual.
3:24 p.m. Made contact with individual, have arrest warrant.
6:25 p.m. Citizen contact, recovered stolen property. Customer brought in phone bought online to activate at Verizon and it is reported as lost or stolen. Subject had bought phone from unknown female. She had taken phone from estranged husband and sold it to subject that brought phone to Verizon. Woman?s estranged husband had reported the phone as stolen to Verizon, so the phone is now unable to be activated. Verizon employee stated because all the people involved were Verizon customers, she could not release any information to police about them. Officer has no case.
6:44 p.m. Business contact ? theft. Subject left without paying. Subject returned to Istanbul Grill and was willing to pay before police arrived. There was a disagreement over her not paying for meal she did not eat. She paid for meal.
6:49 p.m. Citizen contact, abandoned vehicle. Car would not start, owner will move it in the morning.
7:12 p.m. Officer checking for individual, not at home.
7:26 ? 7:30 p.m. Officer checking for individual, unable to locate.
8 p.m. Traffic violation, verbal warning. Vehicle stopped for speed, warning for speed and driver?s license.
9:16 p.m. contact from Washington District Court about subject known to abuse drugs. Wanted person record entered. Offense, failure to appear for mittimus for possession of marijuana. Diana Lee Rick 42, of Muscatine, white female, 5-feet 6-inches tall, 166 pounds, brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin with tattoo on neck. Maybe driving a green Buick Century, four-door car.
9:33 p.m. Citizen contact about suspicious activity. Four or five vehicles pulled into drive and several kids got out and walked into forest. Caller asked kids to leave. Called back to report all have left. Officers went by, subjects were gone before police arrival. May need extra patrol in area.
9:43 p.m. Missing person report from Ottumwa Police Department: Brittany Michelle Harwood, 13, white female, five-feet seven-inches tall, 150 pounds, black hair, blue eyes and light skin of Ottumwa, wearing light blue coat, blue zippered hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans.
10:10 p.m. 911 misdial; hang up.
10:28 p.m. Arrested Cory Ellerd, 24, on a warrant.
10:35 p.m. Citizen contact, caller reported parents kicked her brother out without a 30-day notice. He doesn?t have a place to stay and they have a check of his.
11:11 p.m. Investigate criminal mischief: someone hit a mailbox.
11:17 p.m. Investigate criminal mischief/vandalism: caller saw a truck drive by taking out mailboxes on purpose. Older Ford 1980s multi-colored, possibly put together with odd parts. Several mailboxes hit around town at: South 32nd St., two on South Park Avenue, five on East Fillmore, two on South D Street, four on East Madison Avenue, three on Kodi Circle, and one on Glenview. Trash cans hit included: one on West Fillmore Avenue, three on South 32nd Street, one on East Madison Avenue. Unknown subject driving 1992-1996 Ford F150/F250 truck ran over all the listed mailboxes and trash cans, destroying each. Checked all over town, unable to locate vehicle. It should be missing a headlight, as that was recovered near Kodi Circle.
Saturday
12:11 a.m. Traffic violation, verbal warning: located vehicle driving through middle school lot, identified driver, he was not involved in vandalism.
12:21 a.m Citizen contact, suspicious activity: Caller reported lights flickering off and on at shack for past 20 minutes. All seemed OK, officer did not see any lights.
2:09 a.m. Citizen contact, traffic violations: caller reported a truck tearing up field. A white Chevy pulled into a residence and shut off while caller was talking to dispatch, had never seen truck tear through field before. Officer talked with driver, who had been driving in the grass field next Adams Court. No one observed him driving, but the truck was hot and he was found inside his friend?s residence. Advised him he was very close to be arrested for operating while intoxicated. He was taken to his parents? residence and gave them the keys to his truck.
2:47 a.m. Male banging on neighbor?s door yelling at someone to open up. Male had left prior to police?s arrival.
3:04 a.m. Officer miscellaneous investigation: Located a Ford F150 pickup truck, matched year, but had no front-end damage.
7:26 a.m. business contact ? alarm. An employee who hasn?t worked for several weeks was unaware of an alarm, everything was OK.
9:12 a.m. investigate criminal mischief/vandalism: window of driver?s side truck window broken. It appears someone might have punched window. Estimated damage to be $100.
11:42 a.m. Citizen contact: Caller reported hearing possible gunshots. Checked area and nothing located.
1:41 p.m. Business contact for escort, Anderson Tooling Inc. Provided assistance.
2:37 p.m. Traffic violation ? verbal warning. Driver stopped for driving under suspension. He had his child with him and no one to drive. Police advised he?d hold the citation until Wednesday or Thursday; if driver doesn?t provide a valid driver?s license, an arre
