The Prairie Pride 4-H Club met on Sunday, March 15, for the regularly scheduled meeting; however, they completed a not-so regular task. Each member was able to construct an abstract art canvas painting under the direction of guest presenter, Jenny Humphreys. The club artists ranged in age from fifth through 12th grade. This project easily teaches about the important design elements of color, balance, line, and texture.
The Prairie Pride 4-H Club is led by volunteers Kathleen Brinning, Heather Greiner and Amy Greiner. For more information on how to get involved with 4-H as a member or volunteer, contact the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
