Preschoolers to see the ‘view of an ant’ on June 22

We see them everywhere, but have we ever considered life from their point of view? Your preschooler will enjoy studying ants at their level. The Washington County Conservation Board will be hosting a 'Small Wonders: The Ants Go Crawling …” program on Saturday, June 22. The program will begin at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park at 10 a.m.
This hour-and-a-half program will be filled with stories, crafts, and hands-on activities all about ants and their relatives. We'll celebrate the beginning of summer with a short hike to find ants, ant hills, and other small creatures. Participants may also have the opportunity to be the first to explore the brand new Ant Hill Exhibit. They'll be able to pretend to be an ant and learn about life in the nest underground.
All children, ages 3 – 5, must be accompanied by an adult. This is an excellent opportunity for a parent, grandparent, or significant adult friend to forge stronger connections with their child through experiencing nature.
The Conservation Education Center is located at the south end of Marr Park, 1 mile west of Ainsworth and 6 miles east of Washington on Highway 92.
For questions about this program, contact Naturalist Pam Holz at the Washington County Conservation Board office, (319) 657-2400 or e-mail wccbnaturalist@gmail.net.
