The Fairfield Art Association announces three upcoming printmaking classes for children in second through sixth grade.
Promoted as ?three days ? three ways,? the program will have three different instructors teaching three different kinds of printmaking on three separate Thursdays. The sessions will be 1-3 p.m. in the FAA studio in the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center.
Alicia Carradus will lead ?Yarn and Stencil Printmaking? June 30. Carradus is an artist and teacher in the Fairfield school district and will introduce this unique method of making original prints.
Kella Moschkau will continue with ?Collagraphs? July 7. Collagraphs are designed in relief form to produce embossing on paper. Students will produce their own designs out of cardboard with flat objects and transfer their designs as they are run through a press.
Lastly, Elaine Duncan will lead the students in making monoprints July 14. These are one of a kind or individually embellished prints.
Each class costs $12 and includes all the materials needed. Preregistration is encouraged as class size is limited. Contact Suzan Kessel at 472-5374 or suzan1252@aol.com.
