Private pesticide instruction course offered

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Henry County will be offering another opportunity to attend the Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course. The course will be offered again on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Pre-registration is required by calling the Henry County Extension Office at 319-385-8126.

The course will run for approximately 2 1/2. The registration fee is $20. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact your county Extension office.

The course will fulfill 2018 recertification requirements for private pesticide applicators. Topics to be covered include recognition of sensitive areas, including groundwater and other non-target sites and organisms (pollinators) as potentially impacted by pesticide applications, pesticide labels, pests, pest management, and pesticides.
