The home-school team of Ben Snyder of Richland, Andrew Lamansky of Brighton, Seth Ferreira of the Kalona area and Brittany Baldosier of Fairfield placed first in the senior division of the recent Area Education Agency Future Problem Solving Regional Competition. The team also placed first in the oral presentation portion of the competition, which required teams to analyze a futuristic scenario on the topic of genetic testing. The students will next take part in the AEA Future Problem Solving State Bowl on Friday-Saturday in Ames. Not pictured: At the regional competition, Nicole Snyder of Richland was on a first-place junior team, while another junior team with Nate Lamansky of Brighton earned second.
