[Editor’s note: The following is a profile of Wayland Lions Club member Stanley B. Meyer, who has served the community for 58 years ever since joining the Wayland Lions Club in 1966.]
During Stanley B. Meyer’s tenure in the Wayland Lions Club, he has held the following positions:

•Club Service Coordinator
•Tail Twister
In addition to current member Secretary Bill Grimm, Stan has Sponsored many members in those 58 years.
As Wayland Lions Club Service Coordinator Stan organized the following Community Events:

Rose Sale Promotion
Fruit Sale Promotion
Blood Drives
Easter Egg Hunt
Soup Sale
Christmas Dinner
65th Anniversary
Entertainment for Events
Participated in many service events for community members, building ramps for handicapped---shelters in parks, to mention a few.
Stan said, “I have enjoyed helping with all community events making sure they are completed on time without any problems.”
Why did I join the Wayland Lions Club?
“Lions Clubs are great service organization. I am one of 1.5 million members worldwide. The Wayland Lions Club built Welcome signs coming into Wayland, Shelter in Westpark, helped and donated to Splash Pond and playground equipment in both parks, sponsor Easter Egg hunt, KidSight program in WACO Elementary School to detect possible children’s sight problems at an early stage.”
