Property taxes due this month

First half real estate and mobile home taxes were due Sept. 1, 2015, and must be paid by Sept. 30, 2015. A penalty of 1½ percent per month, rounded to the nearest whole dollar, with a $1 minimum per parcel, will be attached Oct. 1, 2015.

Statement coupons must accompany payments. Payments may be made in person at the Washington County Treasurer?s Office, mailed to the Washington County Treasurer, PO Box 889, Washington, Iowa, 52353, deposited in the drop box located by the south entrance of the courthouse, or paid online with a credit card or e-check at www.iowatreasurers.org.

Payments mailed must have a U.S. Postal Service postmark date of Sept. 30, 2015, or before, to avoid penalty. Predated checks will not be accepted as a substitute for the postmark.
