Washington County Public Health, along with the building and finance committee, will hold a public forum regarding the new public health building bond referendum that will be on the Nov. 3 ballot. The public forum will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. in the second floor meeting rooms of the Washington Public Library. All are invited to attend.
?Since July, we?ve been traveling all over the County to get in front of as many voters as possible so they are educated on the project and can make an informed choice on Election Day,? said Public Health Administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski.
The language on the Nov. 3 ballot will be ?Shall the County of Washington, State of Iowa, enter into a loan agreement and issue its general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding $2,000,000, for the purpose of acquiring real estate, preparing a site and constructing, furnishing and equipping a County Public Health facility?? The bond will require a 60 percent approval to pass.
