Pumpkin patch opens in Washington County

Kari and Brayton Turner have opened a pumpkin patch in Washington County named “Orange Acres.”
It is located at their house in rural Washington County, 2005 260th St. Washington, IA.
The pumpkin patch includes four acres of home-grown pumpkins and gourds including 10 different varieties. Attendees can pick their own pumpkins and enjoy the corn maze, kids games, farm animal barn tour, hayrack ride and more.
This pumpkin patch will be a weekend only business and on select dates and times, such as the following:
Saturday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There is a charge for those over 2 years of age. Parking is free.
The purchase price will vary for different size and varieties of pumpkins. Gourds, corn stalk bundles and small straw square bales will also be available.
