?The Queen of Bingo,? by Jeanne Michels and Phyllis Murphy is a comedy starring Peggy Dodds and Jacque Lake as sisters playing bingo in the basement of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church and discussing their issues with money, family and weight.
They also discuss their unseen fellow players ? a ragtag bunch of people who irritate and rile the sisters.
Eric A. Teeter also stars as the parish priest, who leads the audience in their own game of bingo just before intermission.
Creative Outlet Theatre Ensemble is a not-for-profit corporation formed in 2012 by southeast Iowa native Eric Teeter.
The company?s mission is to entertain by presenting professional-quality theatrical productions of classic and contemporary works, to educate the public at large by encouraging them to engage in the theatre experience, and to enrich the culture of Des Moines, Henry, Lee and Van Buren counties in southeast Iowa by collaborating with other area organizations.
The company is beginning its first full season of plays, with four shows scheduled for 2014.
Creative Outlet also will offer theatre classes for adults.
The first class is Intro to Improv, an eight-week class taught by Bradley Laborman beginning March 6. Online registration is available at www.creativeoutletiowa.com.
?We are looking to expand the number of people in the region who are involved in the performing arts, and encourage anyone with talents in design, stage management, directing or acting to contact us either on the website, on our Facebook page, or by emailing cotedirector@gmail.com,? said Teeter.
