Martha Washington Questers 1032 met on Oct. 26, 2018, at the home of Jane Fehr, with Virginia Reighard as co-hostess. Nine members attended. The minutes were read and approved, as was the treasurer's report. A report on the Fall Fling in Amana and in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 5-6 was given by those who attended. Attending the Fall Fling were Jane Fehr, Linda Newlon, Marilyn Whitenack, Dorothy Miller and Janet Peterson. They toured an 1800s house in Amana and went antique shopping on Friday. On Saturday they met at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and learned about the architect, Louis Sullivan, and early days in Cedar Rapids.
Two members reported on ways to contribute locally to historical places. Jane reported on needs of the cabin in the park, and Connie reported on the F Troop. Both needed documents put into nice frames. The members will wait until they have a little more money and then decide. Virginia reminded members about the Quester Tea at Terrace Hill on Dec. 3. Then they adjourned to take a tour of the Garrett Wellness Center on the U.P. campus. The center contains workout equipment, a therapy pool and physical therapy and occupational therapy facilities. They also went upstairs to the new care center, talked to many patients and toured their rooms. Everyone agreed that it was a wonderful facility.
After refreshments provided by co-hostess Virginia Reighard, members concluded a very nice afternoon. The November meeting will be early because of Thanksgiving. It will be on Nov. 16 at the home of Vicki Ealy, with Dorothy Miller as co-hostess.
