Fairfield Middle School student Brody Angstead reads a Dr. Seuss book to Pence Elementary School student Faith Jones last week in celebration of the 16th annual National Education Association?s ?Read Across America? March 2-6.
The event celebrates Dr. Seuss?s birthday on March 2.
To honor the author and celebrate the fun and value of reading, FMS students trekked to Pence throughout the week to read books with elementary students. About 445 students from 22 Pence and FMS classes participated. Reading classes from FMS paired up with classes at Pence to form reading buddies.
Plans are already in the works to repeat this next year.
